Dr Giles Proctor is currently the CEO of The College of Legal Practice (COLP). The College is a post-graduate professional Law School, offering virtual, flexible provision for the legal profession.

Giles qualified as a solicitor in corporate and commercial practice with Addleshaw Goddard in 1994 and practiced in Manchester before entering academia. Giles worked initially at Manchester Metropolitan University before joining Nottingham Law School (NLS). It was at NLS as head of commercial programmes for its Professional Division that Giles designed and delivered a range of commercial and corporate education & training programmes for national and international firms; he continued this work at the University of Law.

He then managed the successful opening of a new law school for Kaplan in Central London and worked with the SRA in its development of its assessment design for the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS), the forerunner of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. Giles then founded and established a Law School, with its emphasis on practice-based and clinical education, for Roehampton University before joining COLP in 2020.
