Dr Jess Guth

Jess Guth is the Head of the School of Business and Law at Leeds Trinity University. She has previously held senior positions in Law at the University of Bradford, Leeds Beckett University and Birmingham City University. Jess has over 20 years experience in higher education having started her academic career as a researcher at the University of Leeds before taking up her first lectureship at the University of Bradford in 2007. Jess’ research interests span EU Law and Policy as well as Legal Education. She has published widely on various aspects of legal pedagogy, academic identity and the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

Jess has, over the course of her career, served on the executive committees of the Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) and the Association of Law Teachers (ALT) and the Legal Education Sub Committee of the Society of Legal Scholars. She currently co-convenes the Legal Education Subject section for the SLS and is Vice Chair of the ALT. In addition Jess is a consultant editor for the Law Teacher: The International Journal of Legal Education and a co-ordinating editor for Feminist Legal Studies.
